Parasite

Parasite stands out because it moves between family comedy, social satire, and bleak suspense without ever looking random. By our assessment, that control is its great strength: every room, stair, and doorway matters, and the film keeps turning class difference into something you can see in the furniture, the light, and the way people talk to each other. The downside is not a flaw so much as a demand, because it asks for careful watching and rewards attention to detail more than relaxed viewing. In practice it feels tight, funny in one moment and brutal in the next, with a rhythm that keeps tightening instead of settling down. Compared with many prestige dramas, Parasite is leaner and more dangerous, less interested in speeches than in pressure. It is for viewers who want sharp social cinema with real suspense under it, not for anyone hoping for a soft or comforting story. The final effect is unusually complete, and the film stays vivid long after it ends.
