Melania

Melania is built for viewers who want a documentary treatment of a public figure rather than a dramatized biopic. By our assessment, it should work best as a factual, interview-led portrait that leans on observation instead of reenactment. The drawback is the usual one for this kind of film: its power depends on access, editing choices, and how much fresh material it actually has. In practice, documentaries like this live or die by whether they find a clear angle instead of just assembling familiar headlines, and Melania sounds like one of those titles that asks for that clarity. It sits closer to broadcast biography than to essay film, so it will please people who want a straightforward account and leave others cold. The 2026 catalogue date suggests a very recent entry, and that usually means a current-point-of-view approach. It is the kind of film where the shape matters more than plot.
