Dead Season

Dead Season leans on the basic horror job: it tries to unsettle, keep pressure on the viewer, and make ordinary spaces feel unsafe. By our assessment, that is the part it is best at, and the title already points toward the mood it wants. The limit is familiar for the genre: if the atmosphere does not take hold, there is not much else to fall back on. In practice this kind of film lives or dies by tension, timing, and how confidently it uses silence and darkness. Compared with richer horror films, it may feel more straightforward and more dependent on mood than on invention. The 2012 horror label tells you almost exactly where it sits.
