Chance Pe Dance

Chance Pe Dance is a comedy that aims for light movement, awkward luck and the sort of romantic muddle Hindi cinema often builds around a young lead. By our assessment, its strength is in the easy, playful setup rather than in anything especially sharp or daring. The downside is obvious for this kind of movie: if the jokes or situations do not land, the whole thing can feel thin very quickly. In practice it should play like a glossy, upbeat genre piece with songs, setbacks and a lot of hoping things turn around. It sits in the wide middle of Bollywood comedy, closer to commercial crowd-pleaser than to pointed satire. Chance Pe Dance works as a light diversion, not as something that tries to carry much weight.
