DreamHost has always looked a bit less flashy than the big mass-market hosts, and that is part of its appeal. By our assessment, it is a solid fit for people who want straightforward shared hosting or WordPress hosting with a cleaner, calmer feel and fewer hard-sell flourishes. Its strength is the no-nonsense setup: domain, hosting and WordPress live in a package that does not try too hard to be everything at once. The trade-off is that this plainness can feel a little spare if someone wants lots of guided extras and hand-holding. In practice it reads as an old hand in the category, less noisy than the names built around aggressive promo pages. DreamHost is best for a simple site, a blog, or a small business presence that wants the hosting to stay in the background.
