In baseball games, the appeal lies in reading the pitch, timing a swing, and changing sides to control the field; eBaseball™: MLB PRO SPIRIT is built around that familiar contest. Its MLB focus gives the game a clear place in the baseball-simulation category, where the appeal is recreating the sport rather than inventing a different kind of play. There is room for both tactical choices and the quick reactions of batting and pitching, though a simulation naturally asks more patience than a casual arcade game. By our assessment, the recognizable baseball structure is its strength, while the sport’s many small decisions may be a lot for someone who wants uncomplicated action. A match keeps returning to the exchange between pitcher and batter.
