Zombotron

Zombotron is a side-scrolling shooter built around movement, physics, and clumsy-looking machines that are nastier than they seem. By our assessment, its appeal comes from the readable chaos: blasting through rooms, using the environment, and dealing with enemies that keep turning the place into a mess. The downside is that this kind of action can feel blunt if you want deep systems or long-term strategy, because its pleasure is immediate rather than elaborate. In practice it has the feel of a scrap-heavy arcade run, with frequent deaths, quick restarts, and a lot of objects being pushed, toppled, or blown apart. It sits nearer to straightforward action shooters than to polished modern platformers, and that roughness is part of its identity. Zombotron suits players who like noisy momentum and simple goals, while people looking for precision platforming or rich narrative will probably not find much here. The broken machinery and the wrecked spaces do a lot of the work.
