Yokai Taiji

Yokai Taiji sounds like a game built around fighting or dealing with yokai, and that already tells the likely audience: players who want folklore-flavoured action rather than a broad systems-heavy experience. By our assessment, the appeal would come from the monster lore and the directness of the premise, since yokai are a strong hook on their own. The honest limit is that the title by itself does not promise much more than that, so there is little solid ground for a bigger judgment. In practice a name like this suggests a straightforward game where the idea matters more than layered complexity. It sits in the large middle ground of Japanese monster-themed games, and without firmer public substance that is all that can be said cleanly. Yokai Taiji feels like a title that asks you to care about the theme first, and then fills in the rest later.
