Ymir

Ymir is aimed at players who want a city-building game with survival pressure rather than a cosy sandbox. By our assessment, its strong point is the survival-strategy setup, where keeping people alive and keeping the settlement functioning matter at the same time. The trade-off is that this kind of game can become maintenance-heavy, with the player spending a lot of attention on balance, resources, and failure states. In practice it tends to reward planning more than improvisation, and it is the sort of build-and-manage loop that can feel absorbing or exhausting depending on taste. Compared with relaxed builders, Ymir sits on the harsher side of the genre. It is not there for decoration or for a gentle town walk; the pressure is the point, and the systems stay in charge.
