Yes, Your Grace

Yes, Your Grace is built around running a small kingdom from the throne room, listening to petitioners, and deciding which problems can be funded, ignored, or delayed. By our assessment, its strongest point is the pressure of those choices: every request has a cost, and the game makes the player feel the squeeze of limited resources rather than just the glow of being king. The downside is that the format is narrow, so the appeal comes from decision-making and story management more than from mechanical variety. In practice it is a steady chain of talks, shortages, and trade-offs, with the real drama coming from what cannot be solved at once. Compared with sprawling strategy games, it is smaller and more personal, almost like a management drama with a fantasy skin. Yes, Your Grace suits people who enjoy narrative strategy and moral budgeting, and it will feel too tight for anyone who wants open-ended empire building.
