Yakuza Kiwami 2

Yakuza Kiwami 2 takes the series’ familiar mix of street brawls, side stories, and dense city wandering, then wraps it in a remake that makes the whole thing feel cleaner and easier to enter than the older release. By our assessment, its big strength is the pace of its distractions: one minute you are in a serious crime plot, and the next you are wandering into a side activity or a ridiculous conversation that the series has always handled well. The downside is that it still asks for patience with long dialogue stretches and a lot of menu and map switching between fights and errands. In practice it feels busy, generous, and a little messy in the way these games usually do, with plenty to do even when the main story pauses. It sits comfortably among the more approachable Yakuza entries because the remake smooths rough edges without turning it into something else. The number in the title is part of the name, and the game is still best when it can bounce between drama and absurd side content.
