X3: Reunion asks for patience, and that is exactly why it has a loyal following. By our assessment, the draw is the big private economy: trading, station building, fleet management, and the slow climb from a single ship into something that can affect a whole sector. It is not a game that hands out easy momentum; menus, cargo lists, and layered systems do a lot of the work, and the first hours can feel like learning a language before the story of the sandbox opens up. The upside is scale, because few space games let you live inside an economy this long and this busily. Its limit is that the same complexity can feel stiff, even cold, if a player wants immediate action instead of spreadsheets with laser fire.
