Worms Armageddon

Worms Armageddon is still the cleanest version of the old artillery-worm formula: tiny teams, silly weapons, destructible terrain, and turns that can swing on one badly judged shot. By our assessment, its real strength is the mix of tactics and comic chaos, because each round asks you to read distance, wind, and geometry while expecting something ridiculous to happen anyway. The downside is that this kind of game lives and dies on patience between turns and on how much you enjoy waiting for other players to act. In practice it feels sharp, funny, and surprisingly exact once the match gets going, with each weapon changing the map rather than just dealing damage. It sits near the top of the series and remains the reference point many later Worms games are measured against. If someone wants a careful little war of angles that can turn into nonsense in a second, Worms Armageddon is the one that still makes sense.
