World of Diving

World of Diving promises a very specific kind of play: underwater movement, exploration, and the slow pressure of staying oriented in a blue, quiet space. By our assessment, that premise is attractive because diving is naturally different from the usual run of action or racing games, and it can make simple movement feel unusual. The downside is obvious too: underwater games often depend on floaty controls, limited visibility, and a pace that is more cautious than thrilling. In practice the whole thing lives or dies on how good the swimming, camera, and sense of depth feel moment to moment. Compared with land-based exploration games, it has a narrower toolset and a more specialized mood. World of Diving is for people who like the idea of the ocean as a place to move through, and not for anyone who needs constant action. The water itself is the main event.
