Windforge

Windforge asks for tinkering, not just quick reflexes. By our assessment, it is a side-scrolling action game with a strong crafting and ship-building loop, aimed at players who like testing builds, gathering parts, and improvising in the air. Its real appeal is the mix of combat and construction, where the player is constantly shaping a machine and then seeing whether it actually survives contact with the world. The downside is that this kind of game can feel fussy if the building side is not your thing, because the fun depends on attention to systems and a willingness to experiment. In practice it tends to reward curiosity more than clean mastery, and that makes it feel more personal than a plain action game. Compared with simpler platform action, Windforge has a lot more moving pieces and less instant readability. It suits people who enjoy crafting games with pressure on top, and it will not charm someone looking for a straightforward run-and-jump fight.
