What the Fog

What the Fog takes the co-op hook first: two characters, quick movement, and a run-based structure that turns the Dead by Daylight world into something more playful than punishing. By our assessment, its strongest point is how fast it gets to the part where people are dodging, reviving, and scrambling together. The downside is that the format is narrow, so long-term variety depends on liking repetition and short sessions. In practice it feels like a brisk multiplayer diversion rather than a deep strategy game, with the pace doing most of the work. Against the broader Dead by Daylight side of the catalogue, it is lighter, sillier, and much less grim, which is useful if that world’s tone is usually too heavy. What the Fog fits players who want a compact co-op loop and do not mind that the ceiling is lower than in a full-sized action game.
