Warzone 2100

Warzone 2100 is remembered as a real-time strategy game that puts heavy weight on unit design and battlefield control rather than on a fixed army list. By our assessment, its biggest strength is the way it lets players design and rebuild vehicles, then use them in a campaign that is more about logistics and adaptation than raw click speed. The honest limit is that this style asks for patience and a taste for systems, since it is not trying to be a fast, flashy RTS. In play it feels practical: scouting, research, production, and positioning matter as much as the fight itself. Against simpler strategy games it is more hands-on and more mechanical, and that gives it a distinctive place in the genre. The 2100 in the name is part of the title, not a promise of anything futuristic in the ordinary sense, and the game stands best with players who like tinkering with forces before sending them out.
