Wargame: Red Dragon

Wargame: Red Dragon asks for attention to unit types, map control, and timing, and that is exactly why its fans stick with it. By our assessment, it is strongest as a large-scale real-time strategy game about modern vehicles, aircraft, and careful positioning, with multiplayer skirmishes and campaign play giving it a lot of room. The trade-off is that it can be demanding and opaque at first, because the game expects you to read units and terrain quickly. In practice it feels like constant triage: where to move armor, when to bring in air support, and how not to overextend. Against other RTS games it sits closer to a military simulation than a broad base-builder. If you want a serious, system-heavy strategy game, Wargame: Red Dragon is a good fit; if you want something light or forgiving, it is not that.
