Wanted: Dead

Wanted: Dead is the kind of action game that asks for timing, blocking, and a willingness to live with sharp edges instead of smooth flow. By our assessment, its appeal comes from mixing gunplay and melee in a very direct, old-school way, with a visible commitment to style over comfort. The honest downside is that this sort of game can feel stubborn and uneven, because any roughness in controls or encounter design becomes part of the experience. In practice that can make it exciting one moment and awkward the next, which is not the same as being polished but is often exactly what this kind of game is aiming for. It sits well away from safe, generic action design and closer to a character-driven, deliberately abrasive hack-and-shoot mood. People who want clean responsiveness and soft edges should look elsewhere, while players who enjoy combat with personality may find a lot to chew on. The game is not trying to be tidy, and that is clear from the first few fights.
