WGT Golf

WGT Golf is for people who want a golf game with a long history, licensed courses and brands around the sport, and the sort of online competition that has made the series familiar to many PC players. By our assessment, the best thing it does is give golf a clear swing model and a steady rhythm that can be easier to settle into than more demanding simulators. The downside is the same one that haunts golf games in general: the pace is slow, the menu work is real, and success depends on patience with timing and course management. In practice it feels like a game of small corrections, repeated shots, and trying to read the hole rather than rush it. Compared with arcade golf, it is more serious and more technical; compared with the heaviest simulators, it is usually more approachable. WGT Golf is most comfortable when the player wants a digital round rather than a loud sports game, and its online clubs and tournaments are a big part of that appeal.
