Vita Mahjong

Vita Mahjong takes the old tile-matching formula and gives it the slow, pocket-sized rhythm people expect from a modern mahjong solitaire game. The best thing about it is the plain readability of the board: you scan the stacks, spot open pairs, and chip away at a layout that looks busier than it really is. The limit is built into the genre, since luck in the layout can make some boards feel generous and others stingy, and the game never escapes the same basic loop. In practice it is the kind of puzzle that rewards a calm eye and a little patience more than quick thinking. By our assessment, Vita Mahjong sits comfortably in the casual puzzle lane, and it does not pretend to be anything else. It is strongest when someone wants a quiet matching game that can live in short sessions.
