Vaporum

Vaporum is a first-person dungeon crawler with a steampunk shell, aimed at players who like grids, locks, switches, and deliberate combat more than freeform wandering. By our assessment, its best quality is the tight sense of place: metal corridors, machinery, and compact encounters make every step feel measured. The downside is also part of the genre, because careful mapping and puzzle solving can make progress slow and punishing when a route is missed. In use it feels methodical, with a lot of looking, backtracking, and deciding when to spend resources instead of rushing ahead. It stands in the tradition of old-school crawler design rather than modern open-ended exploration, and that old structure is exactly what gives it shape.
