Vangers

Vangers is a cult oddity of a game: part driving, part trading, part survival, with a world that feels built to resist easy explanation. By our assessment, its strength is the atmosphere and the strange internal logic, which give it a personality most games do not even try to have. The downside is that the same strangeness can make it hard to read and awkward to settle into, especially if someone wants clean rules and quick clarity. In practice it tends to feel like learning a private language, where the player spends as much time getting oriented as actually moving forward. It sits far from ordinary racing games and even farther from straightforward action, because its appeal is tied to confusion becoming familiarity. That makes Vangers more of a curiosity for patient players than a casual pick, and the rough edges are part of the bargain.
