Valley

Valley is remembered as a first-person adventure built around moving, jumping, and using the L.E.A.F. suit to cross a large underground world. By our assessment, its best idea is the sense of traversal: running through ruins, draining life to power movement, then turning that energy into longer leaps and cleaner routes. The trade-off is that the combat and story are there to support exploration, not to carry the whole game, so anyone wanting a deep fighting system will come up short. In practice it feels like a steady, route-finding game more than a combat game, with the suit doing most of the heavy lifting. It sits somewhere between a light action platformer and a walking-through-levels adventure, and the whole thing leans on movement rather than puzzle cleverness. Valley is a sensible pick for people who want the map to be the main attraction, not for those looking for a dense systems game.
