VIRTUAL SOLDIERS

VIRTUAL SOLDIERS points straight at squad combat and the kind of military game that usually cares more about formations, cover, and command than about drama. By our assessment, the draw is clear if you want direct control over troops and a more tactical than cinematic rhythm. The catch is that this sort of title can feel thin if it does not have enough maps, variety, or a strong campaign structure behind the firefights. In play, the appeal is in lining up units, reacting quickly, and keeping the little picture inside the bigger battle picture. It sits closer to a tactics game than to a story-led shooter, and that makes its name fairly honest about the tone it wants. People looking for noisy spectacle alone will probably drift off; people who like unit management and measured combat may find the format enough.
