Until Dawn

Until Dawn stands out because it treats horror like a branching group decision rather than a single straight story. By our assessment, that choice-driven structure is its real strength: it lets the player live with hesitation, bad calls, and the pressure of moving characters through danger. The downside is that the game’s tension depends a lot on whether the scenario and cast still hold your attention, because the mechanics are mostly built around choices and quick reactions. In practice it plays like an interactive teen-horror thriller, with cinematic scenes and a lot of waiting for the next decision point. Compared with ordinary action horror, it asks less for aiming and more for nerve. It is a good fit for people who like story-driven games where consequences matter, and a poor fit for someone who wants free exploration or a deep combat system.
