Unending Galaxy

Unending Galaxy is the sort of title that suggests a huge space sandbox, and that usually means open-ended play, ship buying, trading, and wandering from system to system. By our assessment, that kind of game lives on scale and freedom, but it also asks for patience because the pace can be loose and the purpose self-made. The strength is the room to choose your own route through the stars instead of being pushed down a fixed mission track. The weakness is that an open galaxy can also feel sparse, especially if the economy, combat, or exploration loop is not rich enough to keep pulling forward. In practice these games are about long stretches of navigation, inventories, and gradual progress rather than quick highs. Unending Galaxy sits next to other independent space sims and sandbox adventures, and its appeal rises or falls on whether the player likes making their own momentum.
