Unblinking

Unblinking is the sort of title that suggests tension before a player even sees the screen, and that usually means a game built around watchfulness, pressure, or some form of surviving while keeping your attention fixed. By our assessment, that kind of setup can be effective when the mechanics really support the idea, because constant focus changes the way a game feels minute to minute. The problem is that a title alone cannot promise much, and an experience built on vigilance can become tiring if it does not vary its demands. In practice, games like this often live or die on pacing and on whether they give that attention a real job to do. It sits in the more atmospheric corner of the medium, closer to mood-driven play than to broad systems-heavy design. Unblinking is for people who want pressure and concentration from a game, not a loose or carefree session.
