UnEpic

UnEpic is a side-scrolling role-playing game with a comic tone, built around exploring a haunted castle, collecting gear, and dealing with traps and oddball enemies. By our assessment, its real strength is how it mixes RPG progression with plain joke writing and a slightly scrappy, homemade feel. That same scrappiness can be a limit, because the humor and the rough edges are part of the package, and not every player wants that tone for a long run. In play it is the sort of game where you poke into rooms, compare loot, and keep moving because the next bit is usually another gag or a new hazard. Compared with bigger, cleaner platform RPGs, UnEpic is smaller and more handmade, but also more personal. It suits people who like indie role-playing with a comic streak, and it is less appealing if a player wants a serious setting or a polished combat showcase.
