Typoman

Typoman stands out by turning words into the main tool of play, which gives it a sharper identity than most platform-style puzzle games. By our assessment, that is its real strength: letters are not decoration here, they are obstacles, clues, and part of the level logic, so language itself becomes something the player handles. The downside is that once the idea is understood, the game lives or dies on how well it keeps finding new uses for that premise. In practice it is a side-scrolling puzzle platformer with a moody, black-and-white look and a lot of attention to wordplay. It sits somewhere between a conventional platformer and a literary puzzle, and it works best for people who like reading as part of the control scheme.
