Train Fever

Train Fever is a transport-management game about laying rail lines, buying locomotives and coaches, and trying to keep a growing network moving without clogging up its own stations. By our assessment, its strongest point is the quiet pleasure of building routes that actually connect towns instead of just drawing pretty tracks. The problem is that the game is stubbornly narrow: trains are the whole story, and once the map is saturated the routine can start to feel mechanical. In practice it is a patience game, with slow expansions, timetable juggling, and a lot of watching tiny units of traffic queue and disperse. It sits closer to hard transport sims than to city builders, and it asks more planning than spectacle. If someone wants rail logistics and does not mind repetition, Train Fever makes sense; if they want broad economic systems or a brisk pace, it is the wrong stop.
