Tower of Time

Tower of Time asks for patience in a way many dungeon crawlers do not: it mixes real-time combat with pause-and-plan tactics, so the player is constantly stopping to think, move, and reset. By our assessment, that hybrid is its best feature, because it lets battles feel busier than turn-based combat without giving up control when things get messy. The trade-off is that this kind of game can be demanding and a little slow if someone wants pure action, since careful positioning and party management sit at the center of it. In practice it has the feel of a tactical crawl where the map, encounters, and character builds matter more than reflexes. Compared with simpler action RPGs, it is much more deliberate; compared with pure turn-based dungeon crawlers, it is less static and more tense. People who enjoy planning a fight before it happens will find a lot to like, while players looking for a loose hack-and-slash rhythm probably will not stay with it for long.
