Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction pushes stealth into a faster, harsher shape, where cover, marking targets, and moving through rooms matter more than lingering in the shadows. By our assessment, that change is the thing that makes it interesting: it still belongs to Splinter Cell, but it trims away some of the slower sneak-at-all-costs rhythm. The result is tense and readable in play, with clearer forward motion than older stealth designs. The trade-off is that purists who want long, patient infiltration may miss the more methodical feel of the earlier games. In practice it asks for sharp positioning and a willingness to act once a route opens, instead of hiding forever. It sits between classic stealth and a more aggressive action style, and that middle ground is exactly what defines it.
