The Yawhg

The Yawhg is a choice-driven indie adventure for people who like replaying short stories and seeing how small decisions branch into different outcomes. By our assessment, its strength is the way it mixes a simple structure with a strong sense of mood, so each run feels like guiding a town toward some strange, uneasy end. The trade-off is that it is brief and deliberately light on mechanical complexity, so anyone wanting deep systems or long campaigns will find it thin. In practice it plays like a sequence of choices, consequences, and character beats rather than a traditional action game, which keeps the focus on tone and outcomes. It sits closer to narrative games and tabletop-style story experiments than to big quest games, and that is the point. The Yawhg works best when you want a compact replayable story, and it leaves little to do once the branching has been seen.
