The Survivalists

The Survivalists is a survival-crafting game built around islands, gathering, building, and using monkeys to help with the work. By our assessment, the most interesting part is the colony-style delegation: setting up little production chains and letting helpers repeat jobs gives it a distinct rhythm. The downside is familiar for the genre, because survival games can sink a lot of time into inventory management, repetitive resource runs, and basic upkeep. In practice it is about turning a bare place into a functioning camp piece by piece, with enough friction to make every tool and structure matter. Against other survival games, it sounds lighter and more playful than grim open-world hardship, but also less expansive. The Survivalists suits players who like construction loops and systems that grow from simple tasks, while people who want a strong story or a very polished survival sim will probably look elsewhere.
