The Surge 2

The Surge 2 is a methodical action RPG for players who like stamina management, readable enemy patterns, and fighting for upgrades one limb at a time. By our assessment, its best idea is the directional dismemberment system, which gives every fight a clear target and makes loot feel earned through risk rather than luck. The downside is that this kind of combat can become repetitive if the enemy pool starts to feel too familiar, and the structure leans hard on repeated encounters. In hand, it is slower and more deliberate than many flashier soulslike games, with a lot of circling, locking on, and choosing the right opening. It sits in the rough middle of the soulslike field: less elegant than the genre leaders, but more focused on its own combat gimmick than a generic imitator. The name The Surge 2 keeps the series’ industrial, broken-body feel intact.
