The Mortuary Assistant

The Mortuary Assistant is built for players who want horror that comes from procedure, not just from jumps. By our assessment, its strongest trick is the way ordinary mortuary work becomes tense: identifying bodies, preparing them, watching for signs that something is wrong, and trying to keep a clear head while the game keeps unsettling the room. The trade-off is that this kind of dread can be exhausting, because the pace depends on attention and the mood is rarely light. In practice it feels intimate and claustrophobic, with repetition turning into pressure rather than routine. It sits apart from loud survival horror by focusing on small tasks and unstable certainty instead of chases or gunplay. That narrow focus is the reason it lands so well for some players and feels too much for others. The Mortuary Assistant is for people who can sit with methodical horror and do not need constant action to stay engaged.
