The Long Drive

The Long Drive is a driving sandbox built around one very plain fantasy: keeping a car moving through an empty stretch of road while scavenging fuel, parts, and food along the way. By our assessment, its best idea is also its whole identity, because the long emptiness and loose survival management are what make it memorable. That same looseness is the downside, since there is not much structure to lean on if a player wants goals, story, or polished driving handling. In practice it feels slow, solitary, and a little improvised, with the road itself doing most of the work. Compared with cleaner survival games or more scripted road trips, it is rougher and more bare, which is the point. It fits people who enjoy aimless systems and self-made pacing, and it asks for patience with simple visuals and a lot of wandering.
