The Exit 8 turns a tiny idea into a whole game: watch a subway corridor, notice what is normal, and leave when something is off. By our assessment, that focused loop is exactly why it sticks in memory, because every pass through the same space teaches the eye to read small changes fast. The downside is just as clear: once the pattern is understood, the game has a narrow shelf life and depends on tension more than variety. In practice it feels like careful walking, double-checking posters, lights, and props, and second-guessing every step. It sits closer to a compact horror puzzle than to a traditional adventure, and that makes it more of a mood exercise than a long-form game. The Exit 8 is strongest as a short, eerie test of attention, not as a broad system.
