The Dwarves

The Dwarves is for players who want a fantasy game built around a hard, close-up fight rather than airy exploration. By our assessment, its biggest draw is the focus on a party of dwarven heroes, which gives it a rougher and more grounded feel than many cleaner-looking role-playing games. That comes with a cost: the emphasis on battle and party management leaves less room for open-ended wandering or delicate narrative pacing. In practice, it tends to be about positioning, timing, and keeping a small team working together under pressure. Compared with broad open-world fantasy, The Dwarves sits nearer to a tactical action RPG than to a world you simply roam for hours. It should suit people who like a compact, combat-led campaign and do not mind that the game keeps pushing back toward the next skirmish. The appeal is the pressure of the fights and the personality of the group, not a huge map full of side paths.
