The Culling Of The Cows is a top-down action game that turns cattle into a shooting gallery, so the player spends time moving, aiming, and clearing space very quickly. By our assessment, its main strength is the bluntness of the idea: it does one joke, and it does not waste time pretending to be anything else. That also sets the limit, because once the gag and the basic loop are understood, there is not much room left for surprise. In practice it reads as simple, fast, and a little absurd, with the kind of repetition that small arcade games often rely on. Compared with larger action titles, it is thinner and more disposable, but also more immediate. The Culling Of The Cows is for people who want a short burst of arcade nonsense, not for anyone looking for depth or variety.
