The Bus

The Bus asks for patience in a way most games do not: it is a bus-driving simulator, and the point is the routine of keeping a route moving through city traffic. By our assessment, that ordinary routine is exactly what it does well, because the pleasure comes from the steady pressure of stops, signals, turns, and passenger timing rather than from drama. The downside is just as plain: if you do not enjoy methodical driving and watching the road closely, the whole thing will feel slow. In practice it is a game of schedules, braking, and lane discipline, with more attention on the route than on spectacle. It sits near the serious end of vehicle sims, not the arcade side. The Bus is for players who like structure, repetition, and a cockpit view of city work, and not for people wanting quick thrills; the route itself is the main event.
