That also means it can be harsh in a very deliberate way, because bad rolls and limited resources are part of the point, not an accident. In practice it plays like a tense board-game-style crisis on a ship, with the player juggling crew health, morale, and repairs while the mountain of problems keeps growing. It sits well apart from power-fantasy strategy and closer to systems that turn failure into the central texture. The result is compact, stressful, and very dependent on whether that kind of bad luck management is what someone wants.
