Tetris Ultimate

Tetris Ultimate stands on one of the cleanest ideas in games: rotate falling shapes, fit them together, and keep the stack from reaching the top. By our assessment, that core loop is still excellent because it is immediate, readable, and tense without needing decoration. The series has always worked because it turns spatial judgment into a reflex, and this version keeps that classic shape intact. The downside is also the limit of Tetris itself: once you know the rhythm, there is not much room for surprise beyond speed and pressure. In practice it is the kind of game that can be played in short bursts or for long stretches, with skill showing in tiny mistakes and clean clears rather than in spectacle. It sits far above most simple puzzle games because the base design is so strong, yet it also cannot escape being a very familiar Tetris. People who want pure falling-block play will get a lot from it; people wanting novelty may not.
