Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance

Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance puts the emphasis on commanding squads in a future-war strategy game, and that makes it feel less like a movie tie-in than a slow, tactical battlefield. By our assessment, its real appeal is in positioning, line of fire, and resource pressure, because the game wants you thinking about where units stand and when they expose themselves. The downside is that this sort of strategy can be demanding and sometimes unforgiving, especially if you want fast, breezy play. In practice it is about reading the map, choosing when to push, and surviving with limited room for mistakes. It sits closer to serious real-time tactics than to flashy action games, even if the name carries a famous action-brand feel. Terminator: Dark Fate - Defiance is for players who like careful command and attrition, and not for people hoping for instant spectacle. It keeps asking for attention to the board, turn after turn.
