Techtonica

Techtonica asks for patience in a way that factory builders usually do, and that is exactly why its audience is clear. By our assessment, its strongest point is the subterranean automation loop: drilling, conveyor lines, resource chains, and the steady pleasure of turning a messy cave into an ordered machine. The downside is familiar too, because this style of game can become a lot of hauling, planning, and course correction before the elegant part appears. In practice it is about laying out systems, not rushing for quick wins, so it rewards players who like scaling a base piece by piece. Techtonica sits in the same space as other automation builders, but the underground setting gives it a more enclosed, methodical feel. It is not for anyone who wants constant action, since the work is in the planning and the clean expansion of the network.
