Tales of Zestiria

Tales of Zestiria is a long, party-based JRPG for people who want towns, field travel, and a steady stream of battles in the old series style. By our assessment, its strongest point is the familiar Tales mix of real-time skirmishing and a fantasy road trip feel, with a cast that keeps moving from place to place instead of sitting still. The downside is that it leans on genre habits hard: lots of dialogue, lots of systems, and a combat setup that can take time to settle in. In practice it feels busy rather than sleek, with menus, party management, and regular fights asking for patience. Compared with the most polished entries in the genre, it is more uneven, but it still has enough identity to matter if the style itself is the attraction. If someone wants a sprawling JRPG with the usual structure and does not mind some rough edges, this is a reasonable pick; if they want a tight, modernized package, it is less convincing.
