SweatShop

SweatShop is an incremental management game about running production through simple upgrades, longer chains, and constant optimization. By our assessment, the appeal is the cold arithmetic of it: one small change nudges output, then another, and the screen becomes a little factory of numbers. The downside is clear too, because this sort of game can flatten into repetition once the growth curve slows and the decisions become mostly mechanical. In practice it is a click-and-balance routine, more about watching systems compound than about drama. It sits with the stripped-down end of idle and management games, where the pleasure comes from efficiency rather than story. SweatShop suits people who enjoy tuning a process and watching it run, and it gives very little to anyone looking for character or spectacle.
