Swag and Sorcery

Swag and Sorcery is a light management RPG about sending little adventuring parties out, then living with the loop of loot, crafting, and upgrades. By our assessment, its appeal is the cheerful grind: builds change through gear, classes, and a steady drip of progression rather than dramatic story turns. The downside is that the loop can start to feel repetitive once the joke of the premise lands, because the combat and upkeep are more about routine than surprise. In practice it asks for patience with menus and a tolerance for numbers piling up, which is exactly the sort of thing some players enjoy and others bounce off. It sits closer to a casual loot grinder than a deep tactics game, and that is the right comparison. The name fits the tone, but the ceiling is set by how much repetition a player wants from a comic RPG.
