Super Robot Wars 30

Super Robot Wars 30 keeps the appeal of a crossover strategy game that is mostly about assembling a big roster of mechs, feeding them upgrades, and watching them trade turns on a grid. By our assessment, the draw is the sheer fan-service of seeing so many robot series share one battlefield, along with the long-running mix of tactical maps, dialogue scenes, and light resource management. The trade-off is the usual one for this kind of game: a lot of menus, a lot of text, and a pace that can feel slow if you mainly want action. In practice it plays like a comfort meal for series fans, with turn-by-turn planning and flashy attack animations doing most of the work. It sits closer to classic Super Robot Wars than to harder strategy games, and the story framework is there to connect robots rather than to stand on its own. The number 30 is part of the title, not a promise of anything beyond the series label.
